Mount Union won their 11th Division-III national title in convincing form as the Purple Raiders defeated St. Thomas 28-10 Friday night in the Stagg Bowl at Salem Stadium.
Mount Union was making their 16th Stagg Bowl appearance in twenty years, and their eighth straight in the City of Champions. The win broke a three-game losing streak in the title game for the Purple Raiders.
Mount Union led 14-7 at halftime and scored touchdowns in each of the final two quarters, while holding St. Thomas to a field goal in the second half.
