The Roanoke office of AXA Advisors recently volunteered its services at the Children’s Trust. Steve Holt, Vice President of AXA Advisors’ American Division and manager of its Roanoke office, made the announcement.

Children’s Trust is a non-profit organization, aiming to protect the children of the Roanoke and New River Valleys from the trauma of child abuse. Their mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect and provide continuous support for children through investigation of allegations and subsequent court proceedings. Children’s Trust helps make kids safer and adults better parents through education.

Nine financial professionals from AXA Advisors were on hand to participate in “Stewards of Children” training. This training teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The program is designed for individuals and businesses, like AXA, concerned about the safety of children. In addition, the volunteers helped complete Children’s Trust’s largest annual mailing, which raises awareness about their work.

Every year, thousands of AXA people nationwide join together to participate in AXA Day of Service volunteer projects benefiting their local communities. Adding to this “sweat equity,” the AXA Foundation – the philanthropic arm of AXA Advisors – awards grants to the charitable organizations where the volunteer events take place. The AXA Foundation made a grant of $ 2,500 to Children’s Trust.

“At AXA Advisors we are committed to volunteerism and getting involved in our local communities,” stated Mr. Holt “Being active and giving back to the communities we serve strengthens our relationships.”
