Cave Spring High School has long been noted for having one of the top high school volleyball programs in the state.

Monday afternoon in the school’s auditorium, Knight senior Tessa Klimaitis announced her intention to play for one of the top Division-III college programs in the country.
Klimaitis will join Christopher Newport University in Newport News, a powerhouse D-III program that was a Top-10 team and Final-4 participant last year.
Klimaitis said Monday that meeting her future Captain teammates during a recent visit sold her on the school, as did the high academic standards. A valedictorian at the upcoming Cave Spring graduation, she plans on pursuing a major in biology.
Playing under five-time state championship coach Tamalyn Tanis at Cave Spring, Klimaitis finished with some lofty career stats, including 294 blocks (2nd all-time at CS), 634 service points (6th all-time), 512 kills (9th all-time) and an amazing 92.3% serving percentage, missing only 87 serves in 1,123 career serving attempts.
