Two Cave Spring softball players signed to play at the college level during a ceremony Thursday afternoon in the high school auditorium.

Pami White, the Knight catcher who has been the anchor of the Cave Spring pitching battery, will play college softball at Colgate University.
Colgate, located in Hamilton, New York, was chosen over Yale in what White said was a long process. The Red Raiders are members of the Patriot League.
“I loved the coaches, and they have great athletes,” White said Thursday. “I always wanted to play Division-1 softball. Colgate has fantastic academics and it seemed like the better fit. Everything clicked when I went to their camp.”
White, who was a key in the Cave Spring state championship in 2013, carries a 4.1 GPA and returns for her senior year this March under Knights head coach Nick Sharp. Pami is the daughter of Kimberleigh and  Kendall White.
Abby Beatty, flanked by parents Julie and Brice Beatty, along with Cave Spring head softball coach Nick Sharp (standing), signed to play with Concord University.

Also Thursday, 4-year Cave Spring starter Abby Beatty signed on the dotted line to play collegiately at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia.

“After my sophomore year, Concord was the clear-cut first choice,” Beatty noted during Thursday’s event. “I liked the campus and the coaches.”
Beatty was a standout in the 2013 Cave Spring state championship run, frustrating a pair of opponents at the Radford Jubilee with her stellar play in the outfield.
Abby is the daughter of Julie and Brice Beatty.
Cave Spring, which made a deep run into the playoffs in 2014 before falling to Brookville, looks to be set for another strong season this spring. White and Beatty, both captains last year, will be joined by an experienced Knights roster that lost only two seniors from the 2014 campaign.
