“Collaborating Across Borders V” Comes to Virginia’s Blue Ridge

ColaboratingCollaborating Across Borders V (CAB V) is the premier North American conference on interprofessional education and interprofessional collaborative practice in health and social care. Roanoke was chosen as this year’s host city due to the rich health care collaborations between the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute, Jefferson College of Health Sciences, Virginia Tech and Carilion Clinic.

From September 29 to October 2, more than 700 attendees representing an estimated 10 countries are attending lectures, interactive discussion groups and workshops revolving around the theme of interprofessionalism. The conference is being held at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center.

“We anticipate the conference to open the door for more medical meetings in Virginia’s Blue Ridge,” stated Landon Howard, President of the Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “Meetings, conventions and sports groups played a key role in generating more than $784 million in travel expenditures for our region last year.  Tourism is BIG business in Virginia’s Blue Ridge creating more jobs and economic impact.”
