Roanoke College Announces Biennial Exhibition Winners

 Five Roanoke and New River valley artists are winners in Roanoke College’s Biennial Juried Exhibition held at Olin and Smoyer galleries. The exhibition, which includes 44 artists from within a 150-mile radius of the College, began March 15 and continues through April 5.

Margot Norton, who is curatorial associate at the New Museum in New York, was the exhibition’s juror.

The following artists were chosen as award winners:

1st place: Travis Head of Blacksburg, “Reading List Yeah!”

2nd place: Brett Lague of Roanoke, “Parting on Cordial Terms”

3rd place: Melissa Humphrey of Roanoke, “Iceblink”

Honorable Mention: Deborah Dreyer of Roanoke, “Dazzling Reflections”

Honorable Mention: Jeffrey Rowland of Christiansburg, “Reclaimed”

All received cash awards, while the first place winner also will have a solo exhibition in Smoyer Gallery during the 2013-2014 season.
