Ferrum College has launched a fully accredited Criminal Justice Bachelor of Science Online Degree Completion Program designed to prepare students with applied science degrees in criminal justice for enhanced careers in law, law enforcement, corrections, and social science research. The College is accepting applications now for the inaugural online degree completion class, which will begin the two-year program this fall.

Conceived with the idea that criminal justice professionals will benefit from a strong liberal arts education, the program stresses theory and policy analysis combined with professional experience. A Ferrum College criminal justice graduate will have strong oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to think critically and solve problems while recognizing the importance of high ethical standards.

“The most important aspect of this program is that the classes in general are scheduled to be taught by full-time Ferrum College faculty. Our vision is to give students the feel of a small liberal arts classroom through an online platform by challenging them to think and write critically. Leaders who can approach complex problems creatively invariably improve the community’s quality of life,” said Ferrum College Program Coordinator for Criminal Justice Dr. William Osborne.

The Ferrum College online degree completion program is targeted toward law enforcement professionals who have the requisite associates’ degree but who have not been able to complete a Bachelor’s Degree due to either work and/or life schedules. Students in the new program will receive an affordable, quality online education that will enable them to fully realize their career potential.
