Impassioned local artist, Margaret Sue Turner Wright has opened her new show of nude figure paintings, ‘Gods and Goddesses’, now on exhibit at Gallery 202 on the Market Square in downtown Roanoke.

“In the tradition of the great master painters throughout time the human form has served as the inspirational subject that elevates our humanity and appreciation of being alive,” said Turner Wright.

She describes this atypical exhibit for this region: “The revelation of gods and goddesses is that which we see and resonate to, so are we that also. There is no other way it can be. We are that which we behold in grandeur. The gift of each god and goddess of virtue is to recognize and remember that the beauty of that virtue within you is the One doing the looking.”

The exhibit will run all thru December. Margaret Sue is the daughter of racing legend and one of the founders of NASCAR, Curtis Turner. She also has an exhibit on her father at the Virginia Museum of Transportation.
