BMW Motorcycles of Roanoke Valley Announces Grand Opening

Father and son Hugh (right) and Chip (left) Huff revved up their passion for motorcycling by opening BMW Motorcycles of Roanoke Valley, BMW Motorrad USA’s third motorcycle dealership in Virginia.

Salem “a Southwestern Virginia community situated in the Shenandoah Valley between the Alleghany and Blue Ridge Mountains on the Roanoke River” as a recent BMW press document described it, is now home to BMW Motorcycles of Roanoke Valley. The new BMW motorcycle dealership, located at 1003 Electric Road just west of Roanoke and minutes from Interstate 81 and the Blue Ridge Parkway offers a complete line of new and pre-owned BMW motorcycles, parts, accessories, apparel and service capabilities in a new 14,000 square-foot facility.

“Owning a BMW motorcycle dealership has been a lifelong aspiration,” says owner Hugh Huff, whose fascination with motorcycles began with a backseat ride on a ’57 BMW at age seven.  Over the years he competed in motocross and race track events and bought and sold more than 20 motorcycles while working for his family’s petroleum business.

Today, the Huff Family not only owns and operates several gasoline and convenience stores in the area, they also own Virginia’s third BMW motorcycle dealership.   The new state-of-the-art facility is equipped with all of the latest service technology and staffed by experienced master technicians, parts and sales people.  Throughout the year, the dealership will sponsor track days at Virginia International Raceway, adventure rides and Sunday touring events.

BMW Motorcycles of Roanoke Valley is the culmination of a concerted effort to establish a BMW presence in southwest Virginia, according to Lou Provato, Dealer Development Manager, BMW Motorrad USA.  “We couldn’t have picked better representatives for our brand. Hugh and his staff – which includes his son Chip – are not only passionate about motorcycling but have deep roots in the area.  Situated at the crossroads of some excellent riding terrain, BMW Motorcycles of Roanoke Valley will be a destination of choice as well as a valuable resource for motorcycle enthusiasts in their region,” commented Mr. Provato.
