Sunny skies brought out pancake lovers from around the area Saturday for the 20th annual Kiwanis Pancake and Auction Day held at The Berglund Center.

The all you can eat pancakes, sausage and drinks, along with entertainment and a silent auction, drew what organizers estimated to be around 2,000 visitors.
“This event brings together at the table the richest and poorest folks in the Roanoke Valley,” Kiwanis past-president Ken Briggs noted Saturday.
The pancake day benefits a long list of local charities giving assistance to children, adults and families, among which are the West End Center, Greenvale School, Angels of Assisi, Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP) and the YMCA.
