The Texas Tavern kitchen crew hits the road.

After 83 years in the same location, the world famous Texas Tavern now has a mobile unit. Owner Matt Bullington put together a unique combination of grills, tents, coolers, and the necessary equipment to enable the popular restaurant to set up and serve food at most any location. All of the favorite dishes, especially the Texas Tavern chile, hotdogs, hamburgers, and cheesy westerns are offered. The first outing was at the Vinton Dogwood Festival and then the Rail Fest at the Roanoke Transportation Museum. Bullington said he was “slammed” at both events and it took a full staff of employees to meet the customer demands. The next outing will be the Star City Motor Madness on June 28th.
