Roanokers “LIVE UNITED” During United Way’s DAY OF ACTION

This week, employees from some of the area’s most philanthropic companies will be paired with non-profit agencies who need their help during United Way’s annual Day of Action.  They’re sharing know-how, elbow grease, and a day’s work to improve their communities, one resource at a time.

They’ll spend the day installing new learning equipment at local childcare centers and doing what they can to help the helpers, by gardening and landscaping, painting, cleaning closets, and taking on other agency needs that often go unmet.

Volunteers represent the following companies: Carilion Clinic, Carter Bank & Trust, Boxley, Wells Fargo, Harris, First Citizens Bank & Trust, Workforce Unlimited, Block Advisors and Eaton. We are thankful for these companies, helping United Way of Roanoke Valley put its mission into action. Their work improves the building blocks for quality of life in our communities– health, education, and financial stability.
