Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 85th Anniversary

Founded in 1934, the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce (S-RCC) will celebrate its 85th anniversary later this month. The Chamber will recognize the achievement during the organization’s annual Business and Education Showcase at the Salem Civic Center on Tuesday, April 30 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  Admission is free.

“We are incredibly proud to tell people we’ve been part of the Salem-Roanoke County community for almost a century,” said 2019 Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce President Toni McLawhorn. “Our roots in the community run deep, and the dedication of our many members through the years has allowed us to deliver on our mission of creating, promoting, developing and supporting quality business opportunities.”

S-RCC Executive Director Michelle Darby said the Business and Education Showcase is an ideal venue to pay tribute to 85 years. “To be part of a community for 85 years is a remarkable achievement,” she said. “And the upcoming Business and Education Showcase at the Salem Civic Center is the ideal setting to recognize this milestone – an annual event where we’ll not only be surrounded by our members, but is also open to the public.”

The celebration includes a special recognition for Chamber members. Guests will also receive a sweet treat courtesy of Corbin’s Confections.

Events are open to all Chamber members and the general public. Visit the Chamber’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages as well as their website www.s-rcchamber.org for more information.
