Foot Levelers has announced that it has signed a new multi-year agreement with the Roanoke Outside Foundation to continue their title sponsorship of the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon and Half Marathon through 2021. The 2019 Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, April 13.
For Foot Levelers, sponsoring the marathon and half marathon is an opportunity to support the Roanoke community and encourage people to be active and healthy, including Foot Levelers employees. As a healthcare company, encouraging healthy habits has become part of Foot Levelers’ culture.

The partnership between the Roanoke Outside Foundation and Foot Levelers has helped the marathon become a key economic driver for the city of Roanoke through increased participation, raising money for dozens of local charities, and bringing increased recognition to the city of Roanoke. The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon has been recognized as America’s toughest road race and as one of the hardest races in the world in Runner’s World.
Now in its 10th year, the race draws runners from across the country and the world to take on the 7,430 ft. in elevation change and experience all that Roanoke has to offer. In 2018, runners from 39 states and six countries participated in the race weekend. Since its beginning, the marathon has contributed more than $4.5 million to the regional economy and over $185,000 in donations to dozens of local organizations according to numbers released by the Roanoke Outside Foundation.
