Experienced Healthcare Administrator Joins Jefferson Surgical Clinic

Beth Bankston

Jefferson Surgical Clinic (JSC) has named Beth Bankston as its new Chief Administrative Officer.  She is taking over the position after former CAO Karen Tuttle announced her retirement in November of 2017.  Bankston started in January of this year.

“We found a diamond in Beth Bankston,” said JSC’s President, Dr. William Z. H’Doubler.  “We knew how important it was to fill this position with someone who wasn’t just qualified, but had a passion for patient care that extends beyond a nine-to-five job. We spent a lot of time in a national search for the perfect candidate and found Beth in our own back yard. She’s an experienced, successful leader in healthcare administration and we’re thrilled to have her join us.”
Bankston joins JSC after working at Centra Health (Lynchburg) in multiple leadership roles from 2008 to 2017, most recently as the Vice President of Operations for the medical group.  Prior to that, Bankston spent eleven years at Carilion Clinic working there as the Director of surgical practices.  She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Radford University, and a Master of Science in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
“Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been able to meet each and every team member at JSC and I’m absolutely proud to join a group of such talented and caring physicians and staff,” said Bankston. “I’m excited to continue building a legacy of innovation in patient care and to keep growing the excellence that has already been established.”
