Virginia Not Faring As Well As The Governor Implies

Below is the link to the Milken Institute study of best preforming large and small cities economically for 2015.

200 large city areas ranked and 200 small city areas ranked.

As someone who cares about the health of Virginia development and economic development the results are very discouraging. For large cities 2 NC cities rank and 1 SC city ranks in top 20 cities:

  1. Charlotte – 13;    gained 10 spots
  2. Raleigh – 6;    dropped 1 spot
  3. Charleston SC – 17;   gained 17 spots

No Virginia region in top 100. rankings are as follows

  1. Washington DC – 115;    dropped 31 spots
  2. Richmond – 147;    dropped 39 spots
  3. Roanoke – 187;   dropped 14 spots
  4. Bristol 190;    dropped 13 spots
  5. Norfolk-Hampton Roads – 194;    dropped 34 spots
