As someone who cares about the health of Virginia development and economic development the results are very discouraging. For large cities 2 NC cities rank and 1 SC city ranks in top 20 cities:
- Charlotte – 13; gained 10 spots
- Raleigh – 6; dropped 1 spot
- Charleston SC – 17; gained 17 spots
No Virginia region in top 100. rankings are as follows
- Washington DC – 115; dropped 31 spots
- Richmond – 147; dropped 39 spots
- Roanoke – 187; dropped 14 spots
- Bristol – 190; dropped 13 spots
- Norfolk-Hampton Roads – 194; dropped 34 spots
