FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway continued its commitment to preserving Parkway views with a tree planting at Parkway Milepost 121 on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Three hundred seedlings were planted at the site, which has been identified by the National Park Service as a candidate for viewshed restoration.

Volunteers of all age participated and enjoyed bluegrass music, activities for children and educational demonstrations as well as the tree planting.

Viewshed restoration events are a signature project of FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway.  FRIENDS has enjoyed the support of several community, civic and youth groups for its viewshed plantings over the years, including scout troops, schoolchildren, local businesses, government representatives and college students, among others.

Sponsors for this event included the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Creative Nursery & Landscapes and Plastics One.
