Retired Roanoke surgeon and former small business owner, Nancy Dye, has filed over 800 signatures to be officially placed on the ballot for the upcoming election in the 21st Virginia State Senate district.

“I am thrilled by the outpouring of support that I have received from the residents of the 21st district, said Dye. “Voters from every community can agree that we need a State Senator who will bring new leadership to Western Virginia and a government that is focused on prioritizing the needs of the region such as creating jobs, improving education, and putting an end to Medicaid expansion.”

Dye has been campaigning throughout the district since last summer and outperformed the incumbent, John Edwards, in the first fundraising reporting cycle.

The candidate and her husband, Kevin, have been residents of the Roanoke community for over 28 years where they have raised their 3 children and have been involved with numerous boards and organizations throughout Western Virginia during that time.
