
The Virginia Museum of Transportation has announced that the annual Candy Cane Express will take place on Saturday, December 6, from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday, December 7, from 1 pm to 5 pm. The day includes train rides, Santa, crafts and holiday fun designed for the whole family.
The Museum is planning a wide range of events that will make the day fun for the whole family:
- Take a ride in a vintage caboose or passenger car. The Roanoke Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will operate the Candy Cane Express.
- On Saturday, enjoy a special presentation of favorite holiday stories by the Roanoke County Library Children’s Library and author-in-residence Aubrey Wiley and Evvy the Elf.Throughout the weekend, hear stories about life in the North Pole by Evvy the Elf!
- Bring a camera and take a picture with Santa! (Just in time for holiday cards.)
- Children are invited to decorate an ornament for their holiday tree.
- There will also be Model train displays.
