You all really need to be reporting on this and bringing awareness FULL FORCE! I was one of those people! I live and work in Roanoke. I bring home 320.00 a week after taxes. My affordable insurance was just cancelled and the new policy, which was presented as our ONLY option at work, a Coventry policy, will cost 260.00 a week for basic health coverage and the dental and vision will be another 60.00 plus dollars for my son and me only!If I took this option, I will not be able to pay my rent, food and utilities. The insurance covers NOTHING anyway. No Rx coverage until a high deductible is met, nothing at all covered until 2,000 out-of-pocket is paid. So, now guess what I’m being FORCED to do – my ONLY choice is to not purchase it. Meaning, my son and I will have NO HEALTH INSURANCE!
Why don’t I just apply for the Obamacare Affordable Care Act, you wonder. Well, because the rules are if insurance is available and offered to me at work then I am not eligible to apply. I make too much for medicaid. So, what else am I suppose to do? If I can’t afford it, I can’t get it.
Many employees are being forced into this and having to suffer the consequences of Obamacare. I’d LOVE to have a story done about my situation and tell the world the position that I and so many others have been wrongfully put in but my employer asked all of us in a meeting to NOT contact the media and bring attention to ourselves and the company.
This is NOT right! I just pray we don’t get sick! I was supposed to have a minor surgery which will not be happening now. What a mess both Mark Warner and Obama have created for us hard working families now.
