The American Hospital Association (AHA) has selected Nancy Howell Agee, Carilion Clinic President and CEO, to serve on the organization’s Board of Trustees.  She is one of eight new members from around the country selected by the AHA for three-year-terms beginning January 1, 2015.

“Nancy’s election to this prestigious board is reflective of the growing national reputation of Carilion and its leaders,” said James Hartley, Chairman of the Carilion Clinic Board of Directors.

The AHA is a not-for-profit association of health care provider organizations and serves as the national advocate for nearly 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks and other providers of care.

“I am honored to join the Board of this exceptional organization and support its vital mission to improve the health of our communities” Agee said, “A mission Carilion has pursued in Virginia for many years.”

The AHA was founded in 1898, one year before the opening of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 1899.
