McAuliffe / ObamaCare Wrong For Virginia

To The Editor:
Fresh reports indicate that the government does not even know the pricing levels for the insurance to be offered by ObamaCare’s exchanges when they took effect October 1.  That revelation follows the cratering of the law’s employer mandate, and the Administration’s admission that it can’t determine whether applicants actually qualify to receive subsidies.  Not to mention the ObamaCare-driven closing of Lee County’s only hospital.
Yet, Terry McAuliffe can’t wait, according to his web site, to make ObamaCare “work for Virginia.”
A report by a respected think- tank indicates that the proposed ObamaCare Medicaid expansion McAuliffe is especially eager to embrace simply can’t work.  Virginia doesn’t have the physicians to accommodate it; a growing number of doctors won’t accept new Medicaid patients in any event, and Medicaid actually displaces private insurance and produces worse health outcomes.
Meanwhile, McAuliffe’s plan to use the windfall of federal Medicaid dollars to finance an increase in state spending is being exposed as a pipe dream that would wreck future budgets.
ObamaCare is a disaster.  Virginians should not compound that train wreck by electing as Governor a political hack with no clue about the damage it will cause.
