There’s nothing more exciting than a big announcement, and today is certainly a milestone for the Wild Bill Column.

Loudmouth Golf, one of the most recognized apparel lines in men’s and women’s fashion, has agreed to become “the official sportswear of the Wild Bill Column.” (Editor’s Note: He’s not kidding!)

From fairways to runways, mountains to the sea, Loudmouth style is for those who want to stand out and make others smile.

Loudmouth began when its founder, Scott “Woody” Woodworth produced a pair  of powder blue pants with Bugs Bunny on them. This tongue-in-cheek fashion statement took on a life of its own and the brand has grown internationally from the U.S. to Asia, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Today, Loudmouth is popping up everywhere from barbecues to weddings, on the ice at the winter Olympics and in the TV, film and music industries. Loudmouth is the signature attire that has been worn by PGA TOUR standout John Daly annually at The Greenbrier Classic at the posh White Sulphur Springs resort.

Thanks go out to Loudmouth’s Cassie Kovacevich for her assistance. Be sure to visit www.Loudmouth.com to see the full line of apparel that will make you stand out in a crowd.

Now, let’s get right to this edition’s Ouija Board mayhem where the question poses itself whether I’m on a roll or in a rut, Last week, the “Big-11” predictions went 8-2, the fourth straight week that I’ve only had two misses. Many keep saying that’s exceptional while others note I’m not showing any improvement. Irregardless, the slate of games this Friday keeps getting tougher, so it’s time to put the planchette to work.

Four “Big-11” teams entered last week’s action undefeated and two survived still perfect in the win-loss column after William Byrd lost to Magna Vista and William Fleming suffered its first setback at E.C. Glass. That leaves us with a pair of 4-0 teams in Lord Botetourt and Northside, and the Cavs of LB look safe for week five. They enjoy an open date this Friday after putting up 50 points in the first half alone against Richlands. That brought up last week’s most frequent question: Had anyone ever scored 50 points on powerhouse Richlands in 24 minutes? I’ll throw that one out to the Ouija yes/no option after a look at  this Friday’s lineup.

STAUNTON RIVER at NORTHSIDE: The 1-3 Golden Eagles visit 4-0 Northside after the Vikings passed the huge test last Friday in the win over Salem. A letdown for Northside? Maybe. A win for the Vikings? Should be in the books. Northside- 38    Staunton River- 10

WILLIAM FLEMING at WILLIAM BYRD: A pair of teams that suffered their first loss last Friday. One thing for sure: one Bill will win this week. The Blue Ridge opener for both. William Byrd- 28     William Fleming- 13

CAVE SPRING at SALEM: The River Ridge opener for both and the Knights couldn’t have found a worse time to invade Salem Stadium after the Spartan’s two straight home losses to Byrd and Northside. Cave Spring’s young team has made great strides in the past two weeks. Salem may be be looking to settle the restless Spartan fans. Salem- 35    Cave Spring- 20

CHRISTIANSBURG at HIDDEN VALLEY: Hidden Valley may be the biggest darkhorse around. The Titans picked up their first win last Friday at Bassett, but is the 3-1 Blue Demon record a sign that Christiansburg has regrouped after the graduation of some offensive stars? Should be close. Christiansburg- 24   Hidden Valley- 23

COLONIAL FORGE at PATRICK HENRY: The Patriots play the first of five straight home games at Gainer Field. Colonial Forge comes to town from Stafford with a 2-2 record that is somewhat deceptive: losses to #6 Briar Woods and #11 Massaponax. Colonial Forge- 23     Patrick Henry- 21

GLENVAR at COVINGTON: Both teams come off impressive wins to battle it out in the highlands. Glenvar will be challenged to keep pace with the explosive Covington offense. Covington- 28    Glenvar- 27

NORTH CROSS at HARGRAVE: The North Cross offense continues to put up points in bunches, but the defense has given up a lot itself. The Raider defense improves in Chatham. North Cross-  40   Hargrave- 32

PARRY MCCLUER at ROANOKE CATHOLIC: The 3-1 Fighting Blues have plenty of offense and came up one play short at Greenbrier East last Friday night. Roanoke Catholic is 2-2 after a tough loss to Auburn. Parry McCluer may have too much beef for the Celtics to push around. Parry McCluer- 34    Roanoke Catholic- 13

We now move quickly to the mailbag where one reader questions my cruisability quotient.

Dear Wild Bill: What’s your fascination about your boss sending you on a cruise? In the last couple years they’ve sunk, caught fire, spread bacterial fungus and had the toilets overflowing onto the promenade. Bon voyage. (Violet/Salem)

Thanks for the heads-up Violet. I checked it out and you’re on the mark: chaos on the high seas. I’m sending a memo to The Chief changing my itinerary to the Swiss Alps. Makes more sense anyway; I’m a good yodeler.

Until next time, send your comments to: [email protected]   Does anyone know Heidi’s cell number?
