An article was published recently in Politico, a respected inside-the-beltway news journal, saying that some Democrats are trying to exempt Congressmen and Congressional staff from Obamacare health exchanges. I was not here when Obamacare was passed, but I think – as does Senator Max Baucus, one of the law’s chief architects – that Obamacare will be a ‘huge train wreck.’ That Politico is reporting that Members of Congress are trying to get out of Obamacare demonstrates just how bad Obamacare will be.
That being said, I will not support any attempt to have lawmakers and their staffs treated differently under the law than other Americans.
The article also alleges that House Speaker John Boehner was involved in these negotiations. Speaker Boehner subsequently tweeted the following: ‘We’re not sneaking any language into bills to solve Dems’ #hcr problem. The solution to this & other ObamaCare nightmares is #fullrepeal.’
On this, the Speaker and I agree.
