Former Hidden Valley lacrosse standout Will Pilat assisted on the opening goal and later scored the tying goal in the fourth quarter as the Roanoke College Maroons defeated Washington & Lee 9-8 Saturday afternoon at Donald J. Kerr Stadium.
The win gave Roanoke a perfect 9-0 regular season in the ODAC as well as a first round bye in the conference tournament.
After Pilat’s score with 9:23 left in the match knotted things up at 8-8, senior Richard Lachlan netted the game winner with just over 5 minutes left. Pilat is the son of Roanoke head lacrosse coach Bill Pilat.
