Thursday afternoon at Knights Field, it was the woolen variety that were the gloves of choice for players, coaches and fans alike.

With temperatues hovering in the low 30s and winds gusting to 25 miles per hour, Northside starting pitcher Daniel Brammer cooled off the Cave Spring bats as the Vikings prevailed 9-0.

Northside got all it would need in a two-run first, then rode the arm of Brammer, who fanned six Cave Spring batters.

Matt Culicerto weilded the big bat for the Vikings, collecting two hits, including a 2-run home run, and finishing with three RBIs.

Jake Schuyler struck out six for Cave Spring, but the Knight bats were held to five hits on the afternoon.
