“Carole Edwards and Friends,” the longest running piano ensemble in the country, will present its 40th anniversary concerts on Saturday, April 6, at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 7, at 4:00 p.m. at The Glebe in Daleville as a part of The Glebe’s Music in the Mountains event.

This popular piano ensemble began in New York in 1974 where Carole performed professionally with her ensemble for 20 years.  Following a move to Virginia, Carole’s concerts continued for 12 years at Smith Mountain Lake.  Carole and Jacquelin Werb both moved to The Glebe in 2005, and the performances are now in their eighth year at The Glebe.

The ensemble includes Carole, Jacquelin Werb, Joy McNabb, all of whom reside at The Glebe, as well as Deanne Vance who resides in Roanoke.  The ensemble performs on two grand pianos, using four, six and eight hands.   During the performances, Carole shares details of each piece.  Along with being informative, Carole’s comments are always entertaining and fun.

This year’s eclectic program will feature Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” a Brahms Hungarian Dance, a Prokofiev Gavotte, selections from several movies and many other pieces.

The concerts are being given as a gift to the community, with no admission charge and will be followed by a gourmet reception.  There will be an opportunity to make donations to benefit the Christian Free Clinic in Botetourt.

For further information and to reserve a seat, please call Carole at 540-591-2465 or email her at [email protected].
