The Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council has a new look with a new logo and web site that are edgy and fresh.
The logo, developed by a young entrepreneur named Nick Giaganas, is simple yet modern in contrasting colors of black and bright green. The design offers flexibility and aligns well with the website redesigned by Interactive, Design and Development (IDD) of Blacksburg.
“The black square in the logo represents our region. The RBTC circle within displays how the organization connects the region,” explains Derick Maggard, Executive Director for the RBTC. “The logo depicts the RBTC as the regional hub for technology, entrepreneur and startup business. The color green was selected because it’s fresh, bright, bold and we live in an area were green is abundant in the landscape.”
The website was redesigned and donated to the RBTC by IDD.
“Along with the fresh look, the site offers increased opportunities to showcase our region,” says Mary Miller, President of IDD. “This portal captures the essence of our technology community. Here we can share our stories and communicate to the world who we really are.”
The site includes a member spotlight on the homepage and increased capabilities for committees and working groups. The popular job board has a highlighted location on the front page and free employment postings will continue for members.
“The website is amazing and has new features that will help connect our tech companies and entrepreneurs to each other and connect them to capital, talent and resources,” says Maggard “IDD provided us an excellent tool that we will continue to build upon with exciting content.”
The RBTC is a non-profit, member-driven association of businesses, educational institutions, local governments and organizations in the greater Roanoke – Blacksburg region working together to promote the growth and success of the area’s technology sector. Current membership includes more than 200 organizations of all sizes.
