The North Cross Raiders Field Hockey girls defeated the Carlisle Chiefs last week to claim the title of Blue Ridge Conference Champions but fell to Hampton Roads on Tuesday in the VIS State quarterfinals.
In the conference win over Carlisle Anna Cooper scored the first and only goal to secure the victory It was the first time that North Cross has taken the BRC title since 1997.
Paxton Helmer (Jr.) and Avery Sturm (Soph.) were voted to the All-Conference Team. North Cross players Meagan Mulhauser (Sr), Anna Cooper (Jr), Paxton Helmer (Jr) and Avery Sturm (Soph) were named to the BRC All-Tournament team.
