Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1264, along with members of the Patrick Henry ROTC helped remember our veterans by planting flags on the graves of members of the armed forces at Evergreen Cemetery Wednesday morning.

Over 4,000 veterans are interred at Evergreen, including veterans of the Civil War and Spanish-American War. Sixteen PH ROTC members under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Steven Boyd and Sergeant Mills assisted in Wednesday’s ceremony.

“This is our way of preparing for our heroes,” Judy Shorter, President of VFW Post 1264 Women’s Auxiliary noted during the event.
