Roanoke Regional Airport Commission Announces New Slate of Officers

At the July meeting of the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission, Dr. John Dooley was elected to a yearlong term as Chairman. Dooley most recently served as Vice Chair of the Commission. Dooley is joined by Vice Chair Bittle W. Porterfield, III; H. Odell “Fuzzy” Minnix, Cynthia Lawrence and W. William Gust.

Dr. John Dooley is Vice President for Outreach and International Affairs for Virginia Tech University. As Vice President, Dr. Dooley provides management, leadership, and vision to the comprehensive range of programs related to the University’s outreach and international missions, including oversight to the Office of Economic Development, Continuing and Professional Education, Outreach Program Services, and the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. Dr. Dooley has been active in the community developing initiatives that help individuals, families, and businesses.

The Roanoke Regional Airport is the primary air carrier airport for southwest Virginia. ROA moves over 625,000 passengers per year via four airlines with nonstop service to nine cities and with one stop to over 500 cities worldwide.
