Parker Quartet to Perform at Tech

The Parker Quartet will perform Sunday, March 21 at 8 p.m. in the Squires Recital Salon on the campus of Virginia Tech as a part of the University’s Chamber Music Series.

The Parker Quartet has rapidly distinguished itself through national touring and competitions. Most recently, the quartet was awarded the prestigious 2009-2011 Cleveland Quartet Award. They are currently the Quartet-in-Residence with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. In addition, they are the first-ever Artists-in-Residence with Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) and American Public Media (APM).

The quartet will perform the “Schumann Quartet in F Major,” “Dvorak Cypresses (Selections),” and “Schoenberg Quartet No. 1.” The members of The Parker Quartet are violinists Daniel Chong and Karen Kim, violist Jessica Bodner, and cellist Kee-Hyun Kim.
