AMVETS Chapter 40 and the Sunshine & Butterflies Leukemia Foundation are teaming up to sponsor a charity poker run motorcycle ride and breakfast to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to help find a cure for childhood cancer. The event will take place this Sunday, July 26, at the AMVETS Post, 911 Tazewell Ave. SE in Roanoke.
The ride will begin and end at the AMVETS Post. The first rider will start at 11:30am, following Routes 24, 122 and 220, and will pass by Carilion Hospital for the children in the pediatric unit. Donation is $20. Registration is from 8:00 am until Noon.
The breakfast (with a $5 donation) will be held from 8:00 am to Noon. Refreshments and fun to immediately follow.
