The Roanoke History/O. Winston Link Museum will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution by hosting the event, “Salute to Southwest Virginia” on January 18, as well as serving as the first site for the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience.
The museum needs volunteers for the event on the 18th as well as the next week when they welcome students from several area schools for field trips to see the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience and the Roanoke History/O. Winston Link Museum.
On January 18, multiple volunteers to serve as flaggers for the street closure will be needed. Shifts are only 1 hour, but volunteers are welcome to serve multiple shifts.
Eight two-hour shifts between Tuesday, January 21 and Friday, January 24 are available to assist with the field trips. A minimum of seven volunteers are needed for each shift to lead and assist students with activities.
