“YouthHQ@Goodwill provides a safe place for middle and high school youth to spend their summers at no charge, while participating in fun activities and programs like Science Camp, Summer Youth to Work, and Youth Mentoring,” states Stephanie Hoer, Senior Director Program Services. “Beginning July 29th, middle school students can join us for a two-week camp which includes exciting hands on STEM learning experiences, field trips, and guest speakers. YouthHQ has also partnered with Feeding America of Southwest Virginia to serve as a Summer Food Service Program site for youth in the City of Roanoke.”

All programs and activities at YouthHQ during the summer and the school year are at no cost to students or their families. Middle and high school students in the Roanoke Valley are eligible for mentoring and other programs at YouthHQ. Anyone interested in learning more about the center or registering a youth to participate at YouthHQ@Goodwill should visit https://www.goodwillvalleys.com/work-and-training-services/youth-services/#YouthHQ.

The excitement at YouthHQ will continue into August with Science Camp that runs July 29 – August 9, 2019 and a Back 2 School Block Party on August 10th. There will be more information on both these events coming soon or click here for more details.
