Citizens Invited to Attend Roanoke Paw Watch Community Outing

The Roanoke Police Department invited citizens to join them at the Roanoke Paw Watch community outing that was held this week at the dog park located in Highland Park.

Roanoke Paw Watch is designed to encourage neighbors to assist law enforcement by acting as extra eyes and ears while out walking their animals.

The program is not a “K9” or dog training program for citizens. Instead it is strictly an observe-and-report program to encourage residents to maintain situational awareness while walking their animals.

Created by the National Association of Town Watch, Paw Watch is a national program with more than 2,000 jurisdictions involved. More information is available here
