The Spot on Kirk has announced its fall lineup, which includes a mix of internationally loved artists, rising local stars, and everything in between.
This season encapsulates everything the region has come to love about and expect from The Spot on Kirk. It’s a diverse mix of musical styles presented in a uniquely intimate setting.
Grammy-nominated performer Ari Hest kicks off the season on September 14th with his third performance at The Spot. There are some other notable performers including the critically acclaimed musician Cory Branan and internationally known, legacy singer-songwriter Steve Forbert, who will both appear in Roanoke for the first time.
“I’m looking forward to a number of shows,” said Bruce C. Bryan, The Spot on Kirk’s Board President. “One that stands out for me is Thorp Jenson. He was one of the biggest surprises of the first two years for me. He’s known as a country performer, but I found his music diverse and playful and thought provoking. I was totally captured from the first note and can’t wait to hear him again this November.”
Board Vice President Bruce Houghton highlights Elizabeth Cook as another standout artist coming to The Spot this fall. Called a “sharp and surprising Country singer” in the New York Times, Cook is expected to bring energy and powerful talent to the stage this October.
The Spot on Kirk is also anticipating a season full of non-musical events such as the Fall Live Sessions. These once-monthly gatherings are free and open to the public (reservations required). They focus on different creative approaches to small business concepts such as branding and video marketing.
“There is so much talent coming and such a great variety of gifted performers that we absolutely know it’s going to be a wonderful season,” said Houghton.
