Local Contractors / Faith Groups Partner To Spread Christmas Message

In 2011, a small group of Roanoke area based companies in the construction industry (Contractors For Christ), joined together with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) to highlight the true meaning of the Easter and Christmas seasons.

In 2014, the C12 Group, a group of local Christian business men and women, joined the effort. Fast forward to today, and what began as a single billboard seen by a few thousand people, has now grown into a billboard campaign that spans multiple sites across four counties and is seen by millions of people passing by.

This 2017 Christmas season, the partnership is blessed to be sponsoring twelve billboards throughout the Roanoke Valley, Lynchburg, and Augusta County, yielding over 4.2 million impressions of the true reason for the season, the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Lynnie Doughton, Chief Stewart at DRP Performance and a C12 member puts it this way, “At, DRP, we have a passion for sharing Jesus. FCA & CFC puts our passion into action in ways we never could alone.”

The partnership additionally works closely with FCA throughout the year in multiple facets of FCA’s ministry. Proverbs 22:6 states: “Teach a youth about the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it”, is a verse FCA and its partners strive to live out by using God’s blessings to help the next generation lead for Christ.

Additionally, thanks to the Contractors For Christ (CFC), FCA and C12 Group partnership, by Christmas Day, FCA students, coaches, Huddle leaders and other partners will have handed out over 7,500 copies of the “The Best Gift” Gospel of John to their classmates and friends. This is an opportunity all have embraced to share the best and greatest gift of all, receiving Jesus Christ in their lives as Lord and Savior.

The FCA core values of Integrity, Serving, Teamwork, and Excellence are values the partnership hopes can be instilled in every coach, athlete, teacher, and student that FCA touches. Just as important, the CFC, FCA, and C12 partnership strives to live out those same values in their business and individual lives, together aiming to impact our community and world for Jesus Christ.
