Monday evening at Roanoke Country Club, Karl Kuhn, pitching coach for the UVA NCAA national baseball champs, was joined by members of the Cave Spring High School Group 3A VHSL state championship girls tennis team at the club’s monthly meeting.
Kuhn, with the national championship trophy at his side, told the large crowd about the spectacular journey the Cavaliers took and the numerous obstacles UVA overcame on their way to defeating Vanderbilt in the championship final.
Cave Spring won the school’s first-ever girls tennis state championship in June at the VHSL Spring Jubilee held at Liberty University. The doubles team of sisters Fallon and Reagan Delp also captured the state doubles title one day earlier.
