Commonwealth Hearing Center, with locations locally in Salem, Smith Mountain Lake and Lynchburg, has announced plans to rebrand and merge its clinics to Connect Hearing, a nationwide network of more than 300 hearing healthcare centers in the United States.

Connect Hearing’s goal is “to promote a unified brand focused on helping people stay connected to the sounds of life.”

Kimberly Clark, Hearing Care Provider, and Etta Wheeler, Patient Care Coordinator,  are the backbone of the Salem location on Apperson Drive. “This is a very exciting time for our company,” said Clark. “Our patients can still receive the best care from the same great staff they are used to seeing, but we can now offer a lot more – including free two-week trials of the latest hearing aid technology, price match guarantees, longer warranties, and also a program that gives patients access to care and repair services from a national, and even international, network of hearing professionals when they are away from home.  You will also see us out and about a lot more in the community offering free hearing screenings.”

Early detection of hearing loss is important.  It doesn’t just affect the “elderly.” It can affect anyone at any age for different types of reasons, from earwax, noise exposure, viruses or diseases, just to name a few.  It can also come on very gradually and individuals often do not notice it themselves. The good news is that there are solutions to most hearing losses.

Kimberley Clark is very passionate about her work. “I have been working for Commonwealth Hearing for 10 years, and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. It is so rewarding to hear patients say, “I have my life back” or “I can hear what my granddaughter says now.” People shouldn’t wait to get a checkup – they have nothing to lose, and everything to gain!”

In honor of their new affiliation, Connect Hearing will be holding their Grand Opening Event on September 26 from 12pm to 4pm at their facility located at 401 Apperson Drive in Salem. There will be free hot dogs, prizes, and a tour of the newly designed office.  They will also be holding a raffle for two original prints painted by a local artist, Janson Harrill, of Roanoke.
