Alien Children: Victims of Degenerate Politics

President Obama met for 90 minutes with Presidents Juan Orlando Hernández of Honduras, Otto Pérez Molina of Guatemala and Salvador Sánchez Cerén of El Salvador to deal with the ‘humanitarian crisis’ on the border between Mexico and the US. The meeting took place at The White House on Friday, July 25, 2014.

The meeting, friends, was a charade, a farce, a parody; hypocrisy in action. The administration’s policies precipitated the overwhelming influx of illegal children and adults from Central America. Recent information indicates that the administration knew that the border between Mexico and the Border States would be flooded with unaccompanied alien children since at least January.

Speaking on the Senate floor, Jeff Sessions, (R-Al), asked why the Obama administration was surprised by the sudden surge in ‘unaccompanied immigrant children’ when an ad appeared on the BizOpps website on January 29th of this year requesting bids for transporting 65,000 children to the Office of Refuge Resettlement (ORR) centers throughout the Continental United States.

According to The Huffington Post, the government estimated that more than 60,000 children could be apprehended this year. A May 30 memo sent to the National Security Council by Border Patrol Deputy Chief Ronald Vitiello indicated that there could be 142,000 unaccompanied children seeking refuge by 2015.

Of course it is a dilemma! It is a moral dilemma, an economic calamity, a cultural misadventure and a language barrier. The US, a nation with national debt of more than $17 trillion is going to transport, house, feed, diagnose and treat illnesses and hold court hearings for hundreds of thousands of these refugees? The President, knowing that this is a self-fulfilling travesty, asks the Congress for $3.7 billion to deal with the immigration problem.

Many of the children were accompanied on the perilous trip from their home countries by cartel-sponsored ‘coyotes.’ The coyotes exact a fee that often amounts to $5,000 to $10,000 or more. The families that can’t afford to pay cartels for ‘guides’ are the most poverty stricken and their numbers are greater than those who can scrape up the funds for illicit travel.

There are no assurances that these children will even stay alive to prosper in the USA. Mike Vickers, DVM (64) and a member of the ‘Texas Border Volunteers’ has counted 259 dead bodies in Brooks County since 2012 according to the UK Daily Mail Online. Vickers adds that the number probably is only about 20% of those that didn’t make it, many of them children. Macabre photos taken by Rancher Vickers of bodies of illegal immigrants confirm the risks of the 70-mile hike between the border and an official checkpoint. The Rancher asserts that, “All this blood is on Obama’s hands.”

The answer is that instead of bringing refugees to our country, the US and other willing nations can help these deprived multitudes in their own countries. Why bring troubled people into a new culture with different languages, currencies and relationships? If we really want to lead an effort to relieve the world’s pain, let’s send out teams of workers to help the deprived where they live.

When we bring in hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, we are spending billions on travel, food, healthcare and housing. Billions more are spent on hearings in a court system that suffers from bureaucratic constipation and verbal diarrhea, the equivalent of moot court. Yes, we want to help the hordes of suppressed individuals in the world but we can’t do it alone while the feckless UN is busy debating who is right and who is wrong in all the current wars.

According to current ‘World Poverty Statistics’, 50% of the world’s population lives on less than $2.50 per day. That’s more than 3.5 billion of the global population of about 7.2 billion. If the USA brought in 5 million refugees per year for 20 years we would have more than 100 million additional Democrat voters and we would have assuaged the destitution for fewer than 3% of the world’s most unfortunate.

What is happening at our southern border is degenerate politics, plain and simple.
