The band played and the parade rolled into Patriot Stadium Friday night as the Patrick Henry homecoming took center stage.

Patriot speedster Treyvon Terry made sure the festivities moved straight to the PH turf when he took the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, paving the way to the 42-22 win over the Blue Streaks from Harrisonburg.
Although Harrisonburg took a brief 9-7 lead early in the second quarter after a Jalen Crawford touchdown catch and Jordan Kile 30-yard field goal, Terry returned to the spotlight two plays after the ensuing kickoff when he raced 63 yards for a touchdown that gave PH a lead it would never relinquish the remainder of the game.
The Patriots added a pair of touchdowns before halftime, with the special teams and stout defense accounting for the 28-9 lead heading to the locker room. PH blocked a Blue Streaks punt midway through the second quarter, setting up the Patriot offense at the Harrisonburg 12-yard line. On the first play from scrimmage Trevor Mike burst around the right side for a 21-9 PH lead. Harrisonburg was stopped on a fourth-down attempt by the Patriot front-four late in the half, and PH capitalized when Sergio Thompson plunged in from 1-yard out with 1:30 left.
After a scoreless third quarter, Terry scored on a 19-yard run early in the fourth putting the Patriots up 35-9 to essentially put the game away. As both coaches substituted liberally down the stretch, the Blue Streaks added a pair of scores sandwiched around a 43-yard run by Mike.
“We have a lot of pride in our defense and they played well tonight,” PH head coach Alan Fiddler noted at midfield afterward. “We used our speed to our advantage and we’re gaining confidence. We’re not playing with the intensity we want, but we’ll get better to get where we want to be. It was a good homecoming win. There’s lots of distractions on homecoming week.”
Mike led the Patriot rushing attack with 127-yards on 14 carries while Terry hit the century mark with 102 yards on just six totes. Harrisonburg’s Devin Medley was the workhorse for the Blue Srtreaks, picking up a game-high 145 yards on 32 carries. Placekicker Griffin Davidson was a perfect 6-for-6 on PATs for Patrick Henry.
