Old Church Gallery Quilters Guild Exhibit

Elaine Boyd - Fall Festivities (768x1024)The Jacksonville Center for the Arts Breezeway Gallery in Floyd will showcase work from The Old Church Gallery Quilters Guild through March 30th.   This exhibit features over 15 pieces of artwork.  Participating guild members include:  Elaine Boyd, Susan Brittingham, Linda M. Fiedler, Gwen Goepel, and Pauline Hodges.

 The Old Church Gallery Quilters Guild was formed in 1986 by 12 founding members.  Current members come from a vast geographic region including Floyd, Roanoke, Blacksburg, Meadows of Dan, and Winston-Salem, NC.  The guild allows experienced and beginning quilters to learn from each other as well as foster an awareness of quilting.

Guild meetings are held at 10 am every 1st and 3rd Monday at The Jacksonville Center.  Each month, the guild has a featured program such as a guest speaker, a lecture, demonstrations, or hands-on activities.  Everyone is welcome at the guild meetings whether you are a quilter, beginner or expert, or just enjoy quilts.  To learn more about The Old Church Gallery Quilters Guild visit http://floydquilts.freeservers.com or call 540-745-2784.  The Jax is located at 220 Parkway Lane South in Floyd, ½ mile south of the stoplight on Route 8.

Susan Brittingham - New Bern (768x1024)The Jacksonville Center for the Arts will be accepting applications for the upcoming Hayloft Gallery exhibit, 11th Annual New Works Exhibit, through February 25th.  The show will be held from March 22nd – May 19th.  Applications can be downloaded on the website at http://jacksonvillecenter.org/for-the-community/show-your-work/. Those with limited computer access may request an application by calling (540) 745-2784 or stopping by the center. 

All work mediums are welcome.  Art work should have been created within the past year. Work previously exhibited at the Center or work already exhibited at another venue is not eligible for this exhibit.
