Patriots Stay Perfect With 66-43 Victory Over Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley senior #20 Dylan Hodson drives past the pick of #22 Ben Munsey on his way to a game-high 21 points against PH.

As has become its trademark, Patrick Henry came out of the gate strong, building a 46-15 halftime lead before cruising to the 66-43 non-district win over Hidden Valley at the Titan gym last Thursday night.
Hidden Valley regrouped at the break and outscored the Patriots 28-20 in the second half, but the final outcome had long been settled.
We talked about it before the game set the tone,” PH head coach Jack Esworthy said afterward. “If we establish our defense, it will lead to offensive points.”
“We’re working hard on teamwork,” Patriot forward Austin Donithan, who finished with 10 points, noted. “No one is selfish on this team. We’re all looking for good shots, good passes and good defense.”
“I was very proud of how our guys responded in the second half,” Hidden Valley head coach Troy Wells said. “PH is very good; one of the best teams in this part of the state. They should go long into the post-season.”
“This type of game helps our young team at the end of the year,”  Wells pointed out. “Playing AAA competition gets you ready for big games down the road. It will help get us from point-A to point-B in progressing.”
Marcus Banks led the Patrick Henry scoring with 14 points. Dylan Hodson had a game-high 21 points in leading the Titan scoring attack.
Patrick Henry followed up the win by defeating Salem 63-45 Friday night at PH for its third win in four nights. The Patriots improved to 8-0 on the season.
