Roanoke Catholic Sweeps Stonebridge On Way To States

Roanoke Catholic’s Danielle Dorman skies above the net to finish a kill past the Stonebridge defense.

Roanoke Catholic made quick work of Stonebridge School Tuesday night in the Catholic gym as the Celtics won the VIS Division III state quarterfinal matchup in three games, 25-17; 25-11; 25-17. Senior Mairin Guilfoyle lead the team with 12 kills and Sophomore Allison George had a breakout game with 10 kills. Senior Ava Perez had 29 assists and Junior Anne Deer had 5 aces.


Roanoke Catholic (#1 in state) improved to 25-2 on the season and moved on to the state semifinals set for Friday at 4pm at The Steward School in Richmond where they will play Westover Christian School. 

The finals are set for Saturday at 12pm where the winner of the Roanoke Catholic vs Westover Christian game will face off against the winner of the North Cross vs Hampton Christian game.
