North Cross Dominates Rival Norfolk Christian in Final Game

North Cross Offensive Tackle Eddie Smith prepares for another push towards the goal line.

The North Cross football team traveled to Norfolk for their regular season finale last Friday. The team squared off against the top-ranked Norfolk Christian Ambassadors in a rematch of the last two VISAA Division III state championships.

The Raiders were considered underdogs by many, but it sure didn’t appear that way on the field. North Cross dominated every phase of the game on its way to a resounding 52-7 victory. The Raiders took a 19-0 lead into halftime and easily extended the cushion in the second half.
Sophomore quarterback Max Revercomb had his most efficient outing of the year, completing 11 of 15 passes for 213 yards and four touchdowns. He connected for touchdowns twice with freshman Jordan Lowery and senior Evan Anderson.
Anderson also added three rushing touchdowns for five total. Branden Taylor led the defensive effort with four tackles for loss, a sack, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a defensive touchdown.
The win is the fifth in a row for the Raiders, bringing their record to 6-4. The trouncing of rival Norfolk Christian was an exclamation point on a terrific season for a young North Cross team.
