Salem came back from an early 1-0 deficit to score the game’s next nine runs, as the Lady Spartans defeated Cave Spring Tuesday afternoon in the River Ridge softball opener for both teams.
Salem had a 3-1 lead before putting away the game with a 6-run fifth inning.
Kelsey Johnson led Salem with two hits, while Cave Spring’s Kayla Malkos had four hits for the Lady Knights. -Bill Turner
