Fisher Claims Roanoke Valley Match Play Championship

Lee Fisher completed the requisite six-straight match victories Sunday afternoon at Roanoke Country Club to walk away with the 2011 Roanoke Valley Match Play Championship. The Lynchburg golfer defeated Justin Young 6-and-5 in the final.

Jack Allara won the senior division with a 3-and-2 victory over Bill Nunnenkamp. Don Chappell took the Masters division with a 19-hole triumph over Al Looney. Ned Baber captured the 70-over Grand Masters with a hard-fought 2-and-1 win over Bill Shrader.
