Patrick Henry overcame a slow start to overtake Halifax County in the Western Valley District tournament semifinal Tuesday night on the Woody Deans Court at Patrick Henry.

The Patriots were held to one point in a sluggish first quarter that ended with Halifax ahead by a somber-like score of 4-1.

PH got on track midway through the second quarter to take a six-point lead to the locker room. The Patriots maintained control in the second half as the outmanned Blue Comets could not overcome the Western Valley’s regular season champions.

Cam Jones led the Patrick Henry scoring with 13 points. Kerris Epps added 11 points for the Patriots while B.J. Hamlett chipped in 10. PH will play GW Danville Friday night at Patrick Henry for the tournament title.
