Craddock Terry Offers Unique Hotel / Visitors Experience in Lynchburg

c-terryNestled in Downtown Lynchburg, Craddock Terry Hotel is a 44-room, boutique style property derived from an old shoe factory, the Craddock Terry Shoe Company.
Boasting dramatic views of the James River, historic downtown Lynchburg or the Blue Ridge Mountains, guests enjoy charming and whimsical details from the moment they step inside the hotel, when they are greeted by the house dog, Buster Brown. Aside from the shoe themed décor throughout the property, the Craddock Terry adds in unique amenities to match the character and historic preservation of its shoe factory origin.
The Craddock Terry Shoe Company was once the fifth largest shoe company in the world. The other half of today’s Hotel building housed the William King Jr. Tobacco Warehouse.
Hal Craddock, the great grandson of John W. Craddock, was the chief architect of the Hotel and lovingly took nearly five years to restore the two buildings. During the renovation, great pride was taken to retain the original industrial feel, with exposed wood beam ceilings, brick and stone exterior walls and nine-foot tall windows, while at the same time updating the buildings into a modern first-class facility.

Breakfast is delivered in old-fashioned shoe shine box, which is set on the guests bed in the evening and placed outside the door to receive complimentary breakfast the next morning.

From the exposed brick lining the interior walls to the sleek, welcoming décor, diners can enjoy flame-broiled steaks, fresh seafood and prime rib, all prepared in an open finishing kitchen. The open-air courtyard offers an al fresco dining in season.
For a more casual dining option, Waterstone redefines casual with unique and fresh dining. Distinctly industrial décor features open exposed walls, heavy timber beams and an airy atrium. Diners can enjoy casual bites like pizzas, salads and focaccia sandwiches on the restaurants fresh baked bread.
